How many sessions should it take on a tattoo around an inch squared?

i am currently having mine removed and it hurts like hell!i just wondered, how many sessions should it take on a tattoo around an inch squared? ive been going once every 2 months for the last 4 years and although they have faded theyre still visible yet the hospitals web page have b4 and after pics of bigger tats than mine and they say they remove all tattoos in 2 - 5 sessions, so why have mine not made this progress? i only noticed the website a few days ago, do you think i should mention this to the hospital or not?i mean it doesnt bother me how long it takes as i have camouflage makeup im just curious Additional Details
i have 2 'homedone' which are black indian ink and i have a professional one which is turquoise and pink (pegasus) the greens and pinks are the hardest to remove but the others should have at least faded more than that one.

You should speak to the hospital, it sounds like they're fleecing you! I bet they charge you per session?Show them the pictures of before and after and ask why you're not seeing the same deterioration of colour - you're paying a lot for this treatment and if it's not working you should stop it and vote with your feet.

Have a word with the hospital. I wish I had had mine removed by laser, as it was on my shoulder the Dr had it cut out and now I have a massive scar!

You should of had it excised out of your skin, I'm looking in to having it done, I was going to have laser surgery but my tattoo os mostly made up of green colours which takes longer to remove.

From what I understand a tattoo the size you discribe should take 4-5 treatments. Either you had ink down to your bones or something "funky" is up for it to have been this long.

Wow, thats plenty of sessions for it to disappear! Mine took 13 sessions and that was practically a whole sleeve of tattoos. I was told by my laser person that there is no guarantee to completely remove the tattoo. if you have not seen any fading in the last few sessions I would give up by now, as it is painful and traumatic, not to mention expensive. good luck!

You might want to try out a new product called ta2begone. Look it up and you will find that it should work better and save you $$$$$ in the long run. That is what i am going to start and i have heard great reviews about this stuff.... that's the only reason i am doing this.
