Has any one had a tattoo removed, what method was used, did it hurt and how much did it cost???

I (stupidly) got a tattoo done about 5 years ago on the top of my arm, its a heart with my sons name in it. Its about the size of a £2 coin. Has any one had a tattoo removed, what method was used, did it hurt and how much did it cost??? I want it removed becaus its horrible, its nothing to do with my sons name. I dont mind having a scar, it would look better!!!!

So many people are getting tattoos and then regretting it these days. They can be removed with lazer and it's expensive. Call your local dermatologist or plastic surgeon for prices. And be sure if you decide to remove it, that it's with a doctor whose patients recommend him/her.

Laser surgery, its about $1000.00, here in the States, depends on who will remove it at that cost. You could always have the tattoo, altered a bit. They do not cut off your arm, egads silly. and No its not a big surgeryYou are awake when this is going on. They put like blinders over your eyes. Its not as painful having it removed as it was having it put on.Good luck with the removal of this.

The only option is laser removal (safest/cheapest). It should run about $500 or so I believe. Depends on the size, and i cant judge a 2c coin. I'm glad you came around, tattoos are such a spur of the moment thing - hopefully you can tell others of the problem your facing. good luck though

my dad had his cut off a few years ago. He had some beautiful ones and removed them for religion. He said they numbed his hands and cut the tattoos out with a scalpel. Then he had to clean them every day (he wore bandages for a while), which he used to do in the garden shed so as no to disturb us, or maybe it was so we wouldn't disturb him. One morning we heard a scream - he'd accidentally touched the nerve in his little finger!I don't know how much it cost him, we didn't have any money so maybe he had it done on the NHS. Nowadays they can do it with a laser, and it's supposed to be cleaner and less painful.By the way, have you thought about the white scar it'll leave? It never goes away! Maybe it'd be simpler just to keep the tattoo?

Although techniques are better now, i worked with a guy a few years ago and his arms were a mess with getting his tattoos removed it looked like he was badly scalded with boiling water , they removed the skin the tattoo was on and gave him a skin graft from his ar*e cheeks.its your choice! But why remove your childs name, i can understand removing a former partners name
